We have guided missiles but misguided men .... అన్న మార్టిన్ లూథర్‌కింగ్ మాటలు శరవేగంగా అభివృద్ధి చెందుతున్న శాస్త్రసాంకేతిక రంగాలు తీసుకువస్తున్న సవాళ్లకు దర్పణం. ఈ పరిస్థితుల్లో బంధించి భోదించేకన్నా ఎవరికివారిని తమ శక్తి సామర్థ్యాలకు అనుగుణంగా పునఃసృష్టించుకునే దిశగా ప్రేరేపించటమే ఉత్తమ మార్గం అని విశ్లేషిస్తోన్న ఎ.వి. రాజమౌళి వ్యాసం.... అమెరికాలోని ఒక నిరుపేద నీగ్రో కుటుంబంలో పుడుతూనే బానిసగా జన్మించాడు. తండ్రిని బాల్యంలోనే కోల్పోయాడు. తనను, తన తల్లిని బానిసలుగా అమ్మడానికి ప్రయత్నించిన వర్తకులు తల్లిని అమ్మేశారు. కానీ జబ్బుపడ్డ అతడిని కష్టపడటానికి పనికిరాడని ఒక పండ్ల తోట వద్ద వదిలి వెళ్లిపోయారు. ఖాళీ సమయాల్లో బట్టలు ఇస్త్రీ చేయగా వచ్చిన డబ్బుతో.. వృక్షశాస్త్రాన్ని మధించి దాదాపు మొక్కలకు వచ్చే అన్ని రకాల వ్యాధులకు 300 రకాల మందులను వృక్షశాస్త్ర మెళకువలతోనే కనిపెట్టాడు. అతని క్రమశిక్షణ, అంకితభావం, మేధస్సు చూసి సంవత్సరానికి లక్ష డాలర్లు ఇస్తానని, తనతో కలిసి పని చేయాలని కోరాడు థామస్ ఆల్వా ఎడిసన్. కానీ తన కాలేజీలోనే తన విద్యను, పరిశోధనల ఫలితాలను అందరికీ పంచుతాననీ తద్వారా అమెరికా వ్యవసాయరంగం అతి తక్కువ ఖర్చులో ఎక్కువ ఉత్పాదకత గల దేశంగా అవతరించగలదని నమ్మి అనుకున్నది సాధించాడు. ‘నేను తయారుచేసిందంతా భగవంతుడు నాకు ఇచ్చింది. దాన్ని వేరొకరి లాభం కోసం ఎలా అమ్మగలను’ అనేవాడాయన. దేశమంతా లక్షలాది రైతులకు ఉచితంగా తన పరిశోధనల సారాన్ని అందించి వారిని, వారి పంటలను ఎప్పటికీ సురక్షితంగా ఉండేలా తోడ్పడ్డాడు. ఆయన మరణించిన తర్వాత ఆయన సమాధిమీద ఇలా రాసి ఉంది. "He could have added fortune to fame, but caring for neither he found happiness and honour in being helpful to the World'' ‘‘కావాలనుకుంటే కీర్తితోపాటు సంపద కూడా వచ్చేది కానీ రెంటినీ లెక్కచేయక తన ఆనందం, గౌరవం ప్రపంచానికి సాయపడడంలోనే ఉంది అని భావించాడు’’ ఆయనే జార్జి వాషింగ్టన్ కార్వర్. చిన్న విషయాన్ని కనిపెట్టినా పేటెంటు కోసం పరుగులు పెట్టి రాయల్టీ కోసం రాద్ధాంతం చేసే రోజుల్లో ఒక్క పేటెంటు తీసుకోకుండా లాభాపేక్ష లేకుండా తనదేశ రైతులు పదికాలాలపాటు చల్లగా ఉండాలన్న అతని తపన అందరికి ఆదర్శనీయం. తన జీతంలో పొదుపు చేసిన మొత్తంతో కార్వర్ రీసెర్చ్ ఫౌండేషన్ ఏర్పాటు చేశారు. ఇలా తను మరణించిన తర్వాత కూడా సమాజానికి ఉపయోగపడాలనే అతని ఆశయాలు ఎంత ఉదాత్తమైనవో అర్థమవుతుంది. అంగణవేదీ వసుధా కుల్యా జలధి: స్థవీచ పాతాళమ్ వాల్మీక: చ సుమేరు: కృతప్రతిజ్ఞానస్య ధీరస్య పరోపకారం కోసం కృతనిశ్చయంతో ఉన్నవారికి భూ మండలమంతా చిన్న తోటలా, సముద్రం ఒక చిన్న కాల్వలా, పాతాళం ఒక విహార ప్రదేశం లాగా, మేరు పర్వతం ఒక చిన్న పుట్టలా కనిపిస్తుంది. అటువంటి వీరులకు ఎన్ని అవరోధాలొచ్చినా వాటికవే తొలగిపోతాయి. లేకపోతే తొలగించుకోగలరు. తన సోదరుని వివాహానికి బంధుమిత్రులందరికీ భోజనం పెట్టాలనుకున్నా... దేశంలో (భారతదేశానికి స్వాతంత్య్రం వచ్చిన తర్వాత) ఆహార కొరత వల్ల, అప్పుడున్న నియమం ప్రకారం కేవలం 30 మందికి మాత్రమే పెట్టాలని తెలిసి... ఎలాగైనా దేశాన్ని వ్యవసాయరంగంలో స్వయం సమృద్ధి దిశగా అడుగులు వేయించాలని నిర్ణయించుకున్నాడు. ఐపీఎస్‌కు ఎంపికైనా చేరకుండా.. హరితవిప్లవం ద్వారా భారతదేశాన్ని స్వావలంబన దిశగా అడుగులు వేయించిన ఎం.ఎస్. స్వామినాథన్ స్ఫూర్తిదాయక ప్రయాణం విద్యార్థులందరికీ దిక్చూచే. బాల్యం నుంచీ సమస్యలు సతమతం చేసినా, ధైర్యంగా ఎదుర్కొని, వాటిని అధిగమించి విఫలమవడానికి వేయి సాకులున్నా సఫలమైన ఈ మహానుభావులు.. విద్యార్థి దశలో నిర్ణయాత్మక సందిగ్ధంలో కొట్టుమిట్టాడుతూ ఇష్టం ఉన్నా లేకున్నా ఎవరో చెప్పారని, మరెవరో తీసుకున్నారని, వేరెవరో బాగా సంపాదిస్తున్నారనీ అస్పష్ట వైఖరితో అసమంజస నిర్ణయాలు తీసుకుని తమకూ, తమ వారికీ క్లేశ కారణమవుతున్న వారందరికీ ఆదర్శమే. చదువు అంటే కేవలం పాఠ్యపుస్తకం పఠనమే కాక మానవసంబంధాల సున్నితత్వాన్ని అర్థంచేసుకుని చదువుకుంటూ తల్లిదండ్రులకు చేదోడు-వాదోడుగా ఉండటమే. ఇంటి పనులు చేసుకోవడం చిన్నతనంగా భావిస్తే అది విద్యాభ్యాసంలో లోపమే. కుటుంబం నడవడానికి, తన చదువుకు ఎంత ఖర్చువుతోంది? కుటుంబ ఆదాయం ఎంత? ఎక్కడి నుంచి వస్తోంది? తదితర అంశాలు విద్యార్థులు అర్థం చేసుకొంటే వారి ఆహారం, ఆహార్యం, అలవాట్లలో, ఆనందాలలో, అభిరుచులలో మితవ్యయం పట్ల శ్రద్ధ పెరుగుతుంది. ఇలా ఏర్పడే ఆర్థిక క్రమశిక్షణ చదివే చదువుపట్ల మరింత అంకితభావం పెంచడమే కాకుండా తల్లిదండ్రుల పట్ల గౌరవభావాన్ని ఇనుమడింప చేస్తుంది. అది కుటుంబ సభ్యుల మధ్య ఆరోగ్యకర, ప్రజాస్వామ్యబద్ధమైన సంభాషణ పెంపొందింపచేసి ఒకరినొకరు అర్థం చేసుకొని, ఒకరికోసం ఒకరు జీవించే ఆహ్లాదకర వాతావరణం ఇంట్లో ఏర్పడుతుంది. ఇలా ఏర్పడే జీవితానుభవం జీవితంపట్ల వాస్తవిక దృక్పధాన్ని అలవరుస్తుంది. అలాకాకుండా చదివిన చదువును జీవితానికి అన్వయించుకుంటూ, అర్థవంతంగా నిజజీవితంలో గమనిస్తూ ముందుకు సాగాలి. ఇలా చదువు పెరిగే కొద్దీ, చదవాల్సిన పుస్తకాలు పెరిగే కొద్దీ విషయసేకరణపై, విషయంపై పట్టు పెరిగి అది విద్యార్థిలో అంతర్భాగం అయ్యే అవకాశం ఏర్పడుతుంది. ఇది జరగాలంటే విద్యార్థులు, తల్లిదండ్రులు, ఉపాధ్యాయులు అందరూ చర్చించి ముందుకు కలిసి నడవాలి. లేకపోతే జీవితానికి అన్వయించని చదువు, చదివినా అర్థంకాని జీవితం ఇవే ప్రాథమిక సమస్యలుగా మిగిలిపోతాయి. అన్నం, కూర, నెయ్యి కలుపుకుని సమపాళ్లలో రుచిగా భుజించడం నేర్పిస్తే జీవితాంతం ఆ అలవాటు ఉపయోగపడుతుంది. అదే అన్నీ కలిపి ముద్దలుగా చేసి పెడితే తినడం సులభమే కానీ, ముద్ద తయారు చేయడం రాదు. పాఠ్యపుస్తకాలతోపాటు సమాజాన్ని కూడా అధ్యయనం చేయగలిగే వారుగా తయారైతేనే Intelligence quotient, Emotional quotient, Social quotient, Spiritual quotient అన్నీ సమపాళ్లలో కలిసిన వ్యక్తిగా రూపొందుతారు. ఐఐటీ మద్రాసులో మెకానికల్ ఇంజనీరింగ్ చదివి వ్యవసాయం చేస్తానన్న మాధవన్‌ను తల్లిదండ్రులు వారించినా "I want to transform what I study in to what I love'' అనుకుని..పనిచేసి దాచుకున్న డబ్బుతో ఆరు ఎకరాలు కొని వ్యవసాయం చేస్తే.. మొదట్లో నష్టం వచ్చింది. అయినా పట్టువిడవకుండా ఇజ్రాయెల్‌లోని డ్రిప్ ఇరిగేషన్ విధానాన్ని (750 లీటర్లు అవసరం అయ్యే దగ్గర లీటరు నీరు సరిపోతుంది) అవలంభించి వ్యవసాయాన్ని లాభసాటిగా మార్చుకున్నాడు. వ్యవసాయ విశ్వవిద్యాలయాలలో వ్యవసాయ రుణాలు ఎలా తీసుకోవాలో చెప్పేకంటే ఆచరణాత్మక ప్రయోగాలు చేయాలంటారు. తన పొలంలో ప్రతి ఎకరాలో 10 సెంట్లు పరిశోధనలకు కేటాయిస్తారు. అమెరికాలో గంట పనిచేసి మూడు భోజనాలు సంపాదిస్తే ఇక్కడ రోజంతా పనిచేసినా ఒక్క భోజనం రాని పరిస్థితి. దీన్ని మార్చాలి. లేకపోతే ఆహార అభద్రత అణుబాంబు కంటే ప్రమాదకరమైంది అంటారు మాధవన్. ఆయన లాంటి ఎందరో ఇంజనీర్లు తమ ఇంజనీరింగ్ జ్ఞానాన్ని తమ హృదయానికి నచ్చిన రంగంలో వినియోగిస్తే మనదేశాన్ని ఎంతముందుకు తీసుకువెళ్లవచ్చో? మాజీ రాష్ర్టపతి అబ్దుల్ కలాం మాధవన్ పొలాన్ని సందర్శించి అబ్బురపడి మనకు మిలియన్ మాధవన్‌లు కావాలన్నారు. జీవితంలో అన్నీ మనల్ని వెతుక్కుంటూ రావు. మనమే అన్వేషించాలి. జీవిత గమనంలోని ప్రతి మలుపులోనూ మనకు ఎన్నో పాఠాలు దొరుకుతాయి నేర్చుకోగలిగితే. ఉదయం నాలుగు గంటలకు లేచి, పేపర్లు వేసి, స్నానం చేసి చదువుకొని ఆ తర్వాత పై చదువులు ఉపకారవేతనంతో ఎంఐటీలో చదువుతున్నప్పుడు రెండురోజుల్లో ఆశించిన ఫలితం రాకపోతే ఉపకారవేతనం నిలిపివేస్తానన్న అధ్యాపకుని మాటలతో ఆ ఫలితాన్ని చెప్పిన సమయానికి అందించారు అబ్దుల్ కలాం. ఈ సంఘటన కాలం విలువ చెప్పడమే కాకుండా ఒక పని నిర్దేశిత సమయంలో పూర్తి కావడానికి కొంత ఆరోగ్యకరమైన ఒత్తిడి, మనసునిండా కాంక్ష అవసరమనే పాఠాన్ని నేర్పిందంటారు కలాం. అంతేకాకుండా ప్రతిమనిషి యజమానిగా మాత్రమే కాకుండా పనివాడిగా కూడా పనిచేయగలిగినపుడే విజయవంతమైన ఫలితాలు వస్తాయని తాను నేర్చుకున్న జీవితపాఠం అంటారాయన. స్కాలర్‌షిప్ ఆపేస్తానని టీచర్ అంటే ఎంతమంది ఇలాంటి పాఠాలు నేర్చుకుంటారు? కావ్యశాస్త్ర వినోదేన కాలో గచ్ఛతి ధీమతామ్ వ్యసనేనచ మూర్ఖాణాం నిద్రయా కలహేనచా బుద్ధిమంతుడు శాస్త్ర విజ్ఞాన విషయాలను అధ్యయనం చేస్తూ స్వానుభవంతో ప్రావీణ్యత సాధిస్తాడు. మూర్ఖులు వ్యసనాలు, నిద్ర, కలహాలతో కాలం వెళ్లదీస్తారు. గొప్పవారిని చూసినా, వారి గురించి విన్నా మనకు కూడా వారిలా పేరు ప్రఖ్యాతులు వస్తే బాగుండుననిపిస్తుంది. అయితే విపత్కర పరిస్థితుల్లో, అసాధారణ సమస్యలు వచ్చినపుడు మనోనిబ్బరం కోల్పోకుండా వివేకం, సహనం, సూక్ష్మ గ్రాహ్యత, లోకజ్ఞానం ఉపయోగించి వారు ప్రతిస్పందించే తీరు వారినడక, నడత, నైపుణ్యాలను మనకు చెప్పడమే కాకుండా మనం నేర్చుకోవాల్సిన విషయాలను గుర్తు చేస్తుంది. కాలేజీ చదువుల కోసం ట్యూషన్లు చెప్పి, స్వశక్తితో కొంతస్థాయికి ఎదిగి తర్వాత మైసూరు సంస్థానం వారి సాయంతో సివిల్ ఇంజనీరింగ్‌లో ప్రథమస్థానాన్ని సాధించి.. మొదటి ఉద్యోగంలోనే సింధునది నీటిని సుక్కూరు పట్టణానికి తెచ్చి ప్రజల దాహార్తిని తీర్చిన మోక్షగుండం విశ్వేశ్వరయ్య ఎక్కడ పనిచేసినా తనదైన ముద్రను వేసేవారు. మహానది డ్యామ్ నుంచి వరదనీరు వృథాగా పోతుందని దాన్ని వాడుకోవడానికి ఆటోమేటిక్ స్లూయిజ్ గేట్లు తయారు చేశారు. మూసీనది వరదల్లో విలవిలలాడిన హైదరాబాద్‌ను హైదరాబాద్ చీఫ్ ఇంజనీరుగా డ్యామ్‌లు, బండ్‌లు, పార్కులు కట్టి సురక్షితంగా, సుందరంగానూ మలిచారు. కర్ణాటకలో కృష్ణరాజసాగర్ డ్యామ్‌ను నిర్మించి లక్షల ఎకరాలను సాగులోకి తెచ్చారు. ైమైసూరు దివానుగా తనను నియమించినపుడు బంధువులందరినీ భోజనానికి పిలిచి, తన పదవి ద్వారా వారు ఎటువంటి స్వలాభాలనూ ఆశించనంటేనే ఆ పదవి చేపడతానని వారి దగ్గర మాట తీసుకునే వరకు పదవి చేపట్టలేదు. కానీ ఏ బంధువుకు ఏ అవసరం వచ్చినా తన జీతంలో నుంచి ఇచ్చేవారు. ఆయన మాటల్లో చెప్పాలంటే "To give real service you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money'' ‘‘డబ్బుతో కొనలేనిది, వెలకట్టలేనిది ఏదైనా జోడించగలిగితేనే మనం నిజంగా సేవచేసినట్లు’’ అంత మహానుభావుడు కాబట్టే ఆయన జన్మదినమైన సెప్టెంబరు 15ను ‘ఇంజనీర్‌‌స డే’గా జరుపుకుంటాం. ఆయన జీవితంలో నుంచి నేర్చుకోగలిగిన నేర్పు, నమ్రత ఉన్నవారికి ఎన్ని నాయకత్వ పాఠాలు. అభివాదస్య శీలస్య నిత్యం వృద్ధో పసేవిన: చత్వారి తస్య వర్ధన్త ఆయు: ప్రజ్ఞా యశో బలం ఎవరైతే విజ్ఞులు, మహానుభావుల పట్ల వినమ్రతతో, భక్తిభావంతో ఉంటారో వారి ఆయువు, వివేకం, యశస్సు, బలం వృద్ధి చెందుతాయి. ఒక ప్రముఖ కంపెనీ క్యాంపస్ ప్లేస్‌మెంట్లకు ఎంపికైన విద్యార్థులకు ఇలా ఉత్తరం రాసింది. ‘‘మీలో చాలామంది డిగ్రీ పూర్తి చేస్తున్నందుకు, మొదటి ఉద్యోగంలో చేరుతున్నందుకు చాలా ఆనందంగా గర్వంగా భావిస్తుంటారు. మీకు రాబోయే జీతాల గురించి, పదవుల గురించి చర్చించుకుంటూ ఉంటారు. కానీ మేము మాత్రం మీరు పంపిన బయోడేటాలు చూస్తూ మీ నాణ్యత, మీ నైపుణ్యం, మీ ఉత్పాదకత, మీ విశ్వసనీయత ఎలా ఉంటాయోనని ఆందోళన చెందుతూ రాస్తున్నాం. కానీ మీకు చెప్పకపోతే మీ తరం, మీ తర్వాతి తరం కూడా నేర్చుకోవాల్సినవి నేర్చుకోక నాణ్యతా ప్రమాణాలను తగ్గించి వేస్తాయనే ఆందోళనతో రాస్తున్నాం. మీరు ఇంగ్లిష్‌లో అనర్గళంగా మాట్లాడగలం, రాయగలం అని బయోడేటాలో రాస్తారు. కానీ సగానికిపైగా బయోడేటాల్లో ఇంగ్లిష్ తప్పుల తడకలు. ప్రపంచస్థాయిలో పనిచేయడానికి అవసరమైన భాషలో నైపుణ్యం సాధించాల్సిన అవసరం లేదా? ఆలోచించండి? సమస్యా పరిష్కార నైపుణ్యం పుష్కలంగా ఉందని రాస్తారు. ఇంతకుముందు మీ సీనియర్లు కూడా ఇలాగే రాశారు. ఎప్పుడు చిన్న సమస్య వచ్చినా నిబ్బరంగా పరిష్కారం ఆలోచించకుండా వెంటనే ఏం చేయాలని అడుగుతారు. మీస్థాయి సమస్య మీరు పరిష్కరించలేకపోతే మీరు మీ సంస్థలో ఆత్మవిశ్వాసంతో ఎలా పని చేయగలరు? ఇప్పటినుంచైనా ఈ అలవాటు చేసుకుంటారని ఆశించవచ్చా? మారుతున్న పరిస్థితులకు అనుగుణంగా కొత్త మెళకువలు నేర్చుకుంటామని మాట ఇచ్చి బాధ్యతలు చేపడతారు. విధుల్లో చేరిన తర్వాత నేర్చుకోవడమే మానేస్తున్నారు. నైపుణ్యాన్ని మెరుగుపరచుకోకుండా మెరుగైన జీతం ఇవడం ఎలా సాధ్యం? సంస్థ పట్ల పూర్తి నిబద్ధతతో సంస్థ పురోభివృద్ధికి తోడ్పతామని చెబుతారు. కానీ కాస్త మెరుగైన జీతం ఎవరైనా ఇస్తానంటే అవకాశం వచ్చిన వెంటనే సంస్థను వదిలి వెళ్లిపోతారు. మేము మిమ్మల్ని అర్ధంతరంగా సంస్థ నుంచి బయటకు పంపితే మీరు ఎంత బాధపడతారో అవసరమైన సమయంలో మీరు సంస్థను వదిలేస్తే ఆ సంస్థకు ఎంత కష్టమౌతుందో ఆలోచించారా? మీ విశ్వసనీయతను ఎలా విశ్వసించడం? మీకు వ్యక్తిగత అవసరం ఉన్నపుడు ఆఫీసుకు ఆలస్యంగా వచ్చినా ఏమీ అనకూడదని మీరు అనుకోవడం తప్పుకాదు. కానీ సంస్థకు అవసరమైనపుడు సహజమైన ఇష్టంతో మీరు సంస్థ సమస్యను పరిష్కరించడంలో తోడ్పడాలని ఆశించడం అత్యాశా? మీ కెరీర్ ఆరంభం-అంతం కూడా మీ చేతిలోనే ఉంది. ఒక మీరు వీలైనంత నైపుణ్యం, సామర్థ్యం పెంచుకుని మీకు, మీ కుటుంబానికీ, మీ సంస్థకూ, దేశానికీ ఒక తరగని ఆస్తిగా మారాలని - ఒక బాధ్యతాయుతమైన కంపెనీగా మా ఆకాంక్ష. భాషా నైపుణ్యం, జ్ఞాన తృష్ణ, స్వవివేకం, విలువలతో కూడిన భాగస్వామ్యం, Professionalism - ఇవి మీ ఎదుగుదలకు, మీ ద్వారా మా ఎదుగుదలకు మెట్లు/పునాదులు. నిజాయితీతో ఆత్మావలోకనం చేసుకుని, సుహృద్భావంతో అర్థం చేసుకుని సహకరిస్తూ సంస్థలో శాశ్వత భాగస్వాములవుతారని ఆశించవచ్చా? ఈ ఉత్తరం మనందరికీ ఏదో ఒక విషయంలో వర్తిస్తుంది. మరి వారు పేర్కొన్న ప్రొఫెషనలిజం అంటే ఏమిటి? తండ్రి లేని ఐదేళ్ల మహదేవ అనే చిన్న కుర్రవాడిని.. అతని తల్లి ఏదో ఒక పనిచేస్తూ పోషించేది. అనారోగ్యంతో చనిపోయిన తన తలి అంత్యక్రియలు అనాథలా జరిగాయిని భావించి తన తల్లిలాంటి పరిస్థితి మరెవ్వరికీ రాకూడదని భావించి... ఎవరూ లేనివారికి తనే శాస్త్రోక్తంగా అంత్యక్రియలు చేసేవాడు. ఇప్పటి వరకూ దాదాపు 45 వేల మందికి అలా శ్రద్ధగా అంత్యక్రియలు చేశాడు. ఇంకా చేస్తున్నాడు. అతను మృతదేహాలను ఏదైనా నదిలో పారేసినా అడిగేవారు లేరు. కానీ ఎటువంటి పర్యవేక్షణ లేకుండా తను నిర్ధారించుకున్న ప్రక్రియ ప్రకారం అంకితభావంతో పని పూర్తి చేసేవాడు. మరి జీతం తీసుకుంటూ మన పని మనం చేయడానికే 10 సార్లు చెప్పించుకుని, పర్యవేక్షకుడితో తిట్లు తిని, ఆ భయంతో పనిపూర్తి చేసే మనలో ప్రొఫెషనలిజం ఉందా? లేదా? ప్రశ్నించేవారు, పర్యవేక్షణ లేకున్నా పూర్తి నిబద్ధతతో మహదేవ చేసేపనిలో ప్రొఫెషనలిజం ఉందా? అనేది ప్రతి రంగంలో తమని తాము ప్రొఫెషనల్ అని పిలుచుకునే ప్రతివారూ ఆత్మావలోకనం చేసుకోవాల్సిన వాస్తవ ఉదాహరణ. ప్రొఫెషనలిజం అంటే డిగ్రీలు, కోర్సులు, దుస్తులు, వాహనాలు, ఐడెంటిటీ కార్‌‌డ్స.... ఇవేనా? లేదా పర్యవేక్షణ ఉన్నా లేకున్నా తన పనిని పూర్తి నాణ్యతా ప్రమాణాలతో పూర్తి చేయడమా? కంపెనీవారు రాసిన ఉత్తరం, మహాదేవ ఉదాహరణ కింది సుభాషితాన్ని గుర్తుకు తెస్తాయి. గుణేషు క్రియతాం యత్నః కిమాటోపైః ప్రయోజనమ్ విక్రయన్తే న ఘంటాభిః గావః క్షీర వివర్జితాః నాకీ గుణాలున్నాయని చెప్పడం కంటే ఆ గుణాలు అలవర్చుకోవడం అత్యవసరం. మెడలో గంటకట్టినంత మాత్రాన పాలివ్వని ఆవును మభ్యపెట్టి అమ్మినా.. వాస్తవం తెలిసి వదిలివేస్తారు. ప్రముఖ శాస్త్రవేత్త నోబెల్ బహుమతి గ్రహీత చంద్రశేఖర్ తన పరిశోధనల సారాన్నంతా చక్కని సొంపైన భాషలో, ఒక చదివింపచేసే శైలిలో వ్యాసాలు రాసేవారు. క్లాసిక్స్‌తోపాటు ఆంగ్ల కవులైన టి.ఎస్.ఇలియట్, షేక్‌స్పియర్, హెమింగ్‌వే లాంటి ప్రముఖ రచయితల రచనలు చదువుతున్నప్పుడు, తన పరిశోధనల సారాన్ని వారిలాగా చదివింపచేసేలా, ఆనందింప చేసేలా ఎందుకుండకూడదని ఒక విలక్షణశైలిలో రాసేవారు. ఇది శాస్త్ర సాంకేతిక పరిశోధనా వ్యాసాల్లో బహు అరుదు. అందుకే అంత గొప్పవాడయ్యారు చంద్రశేఖర్. ఆయన ఏం చేసినా పరిపూర్ణత్వం, కళాత్మకత, సౌందర్యాభిలాష నిండుగా కనిపించేవి. ""Science is not only a way of making discoveries but a way of life'' సత్యం సౌందర్యం వీటిని విడదీయలేమని సైన్సుని ప్రోత్సహించి, కళని విస్మరించలేమనీ, సైన్సులో అవసరమయ్యే క్రమశిక్షణ, పట్టుదల, హేతుబద్ధత, దృక్పథం లాంటివి పాటిస్తూనే సంగీతం, కళలు, సాహిత్యంలో కూడా అభిరుచిని కలిగిఉండి పరిపూర్ణ మానవ నిపుణుడిగా వికసించడం ప్రతి విద్యార్థికి అవసరం. ఈ సమతుల్యత, సమన్వయం ఈనాటి యాంత్రిక జీవన గమనానికి పరిష్కారమేమైనా చూపిస్తుందేమో. ఒక వ్యక్తి విద్యాపరంగా/ కెరీర్ పరంగా ఉన్నతస్థానానికి ఎదగడానికి అతని పట్టుదల, పరిశ్రమ, పనితనంతోపాటు కుటుంబంలో అందరూ లేదా వీలైనంతమంది తమతమ స్థాయిలో వీలైనంత త్యాగాలు చేస్తారు. ఆ ఫలితం సామూహికంగా కుటుంబ సభ్యులందరిదీ. మూలాలు మరిచిన వారినీ, అసూయాపరులను, అహంకారులను, అజాగ్రత్తపరులనూ ప్రకృతి ప్రోత్సహించదు. యక్ష ప్రశ్నలలో ధర్మరాజు - సుఖానికి ఆధారమైనది ఏది అని యక్షుడడిగితే ‘శీలం’ అంటాడు. సంపద అనలేదు. సుఖాల్లో గొప్పది ఏది అనడిగితే సంతోషం అన్నాడు. ఎవరు సంతోషంగా ఉంటాడు అనడిగితే యాచించకుండా తనకున్న దానిని తనవారందరితో ఆనందంగా పంచుకుని తృప్తి చెందేవాడు అని సమాధానమిస్తాడు. అందువల్ల ఉన్నతికి కారణమైన వారందరిపట్లా జీవితాంతం కృతజ్ఞతాభావంతో ఉండటమే వారికి మనం ఇచ్చే మర్యాద. ఈ సందర్భంలో మార్టిన్ లూథర్ కింగ్ తను నోబెల్ ప్రైజ్ అందుకుంటూ అన్నమాటలు. ""we should be grateful not only to known pilots but also unknown ground crew'' విమానం ఎగురుతుందంటే అందరూ నడుపుతున్న పైలట్‌ను చూస్తారు కానీ ఎయిర్‌పోర్ట్ గ్రౌండ్‌స్టాఫ్ పగలూ, రాత్రీ శ్రమించి విమానాన్ని ఎగరడానికి సమానంగా తోడ్పడతారని ఆలోచించరు. ఎందుకంటే వారు ముఖ్యాంశాల్లో ఉండరు. కానీ పైలట్ విజ్ఞడయితే వారి శ్రమను గుర్తుంచుకొని వారిని మనసునిండా ఉంచుకోవాలి. ఉన్నతస్థితికి ఎదిగినా తన ప్రాథమిక సూత్రాలను మరవకూడదు. ఢిల్లీ మెట్రోను, కొంకణ్ రైల్వేను అనుకున్న దానికంటే ముందే పూర్తిచేసిన కర్మయోగి శ్రీధరన్ ఇప్పటికీ తెల్లవారుజామునే నిద్రలేస్తారు. ధ్యానం, భగవద్గీతా పఠనానికి రెండు గంటలు కేటాయిస్తారు. పని సమయంలో పూర్తిగా పని, విశ్రాంతి సమయంలో పూర్తిగా విశ్రాంతి, ఆహార సమయానికి ఆహారం లేకపోతే రెండు అరటిపండ్లతో ఆకలి తీర్చుకోవడం, సాధారణ జీవనశైలినే అనుసరించడం అందరికీ ఆచరణీయం. ఎందుకంటే.. ఆచారాల్లభతేః ఆయుః ఆచారా దీప్సితాః ప్రజా ఆచారాద్ధనమక్షయ్యమ్ ఆచారోహన్త్యలక్షణమ్ మంచి శీలం, నడవడిక ఉంటే ఆయుర్వృద్ధి, సత్సంతానం, తరగని సంపద, (కీర్తి), లభించడమే కాకుండా ఏవైనా చిన్నలోపాలుంటే నశించిపోతాయి. Rudyard kipling మాటల్లో చెప్పాలంటే... If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue or walk with the kings - nor loose the common touch yours is the earth and everything that's in it and which is more- you will be a man my son. జన సందోహంలో ఉంటూ కూడా తన విశిష్ట గుణాలను కోల్పోనివాడు, గొప్పవారితో తిరుగుతూ కూడా తన సామాన్య, సాధారణ ప్రవృత్తిని కోల్పోనివాడు అసలైన మనిషి. అందుకే నచ్చిన పనిని చేపడదాం చేపట్టిన పని పనిబడదాం ఎందుకంటే ధర్మరాజు చెప్పినట్లు (యక్ష ప్రశ్నలకు సమాధానమిస్తూ) ధాన్యానాముత్తమం దాక్ష్యం గొప్పతనాల అన్నింటిలోనూ ఉత్తమమైన గొప్పదనం.. చేపట్టిన పనిలో నేర్పరితనమే.
